PEP Book1 Unit5 Nelson Mandala 小学三年级英语说课稿
1. Listen a part of Nelson Mandela’s speech. Then give the Ss some information and ask them to guess who is speaking. Through this way, it can arouse the Ss' performance desire, participation desire, and lead the Ss into a thick English studying atmosphere.
2. Discussion: What qualities do you think a great person should have? Learn some news on describing the famous or great people.
3.Game:Guess who is he/she?
Ask the students to play a game(This will get the students to master the news they have just learned and know how to describe a person)
Divide the whole class into four groups. Show each groups three pictures of the great people. Each group will choose one student with his back to the blank board. If he or she can guess the name of the person by listening to other students’ description. His or Her group will get one point. In the end, check which group is the best one.
Playing a game can make Ss feel pleased and satisfied, and can arouse exciting motion
Step II.
1.Fast--reading
Skan the text quickly, and answer some questions.
Skim the whole passage, and find the right answers.
Skanning and skimming can help the Ss the get the main idea of this passage.
By this step, it achieved the teaching aim of understanding of this lesson.
2.Intensive
Read the text carefully and finish the True or False questions and tell why. While reading, underline the following sentence:
He was generous with his time, for which I was grateful.
The parts of town in which they had to live were decided by white people.
The day when Nelson Mandela helped me was one of my happiest.
Help the Ss to learn the attributive clause with prep. and the relative adverbs
Do some practices to master this grammar
Step III. After reading
To master the language capability needs certain amount of practice. So, I adopt the “Task-based” teaching method, which is defined by strong practicality and exact task, so as to make break-through about the difficult points of this lesson.
Therefore, after reading ask the Ss to finish timeline of Elias’ life and try to retell the story according to the timeline! It can help the Ss understand the whole passage deeply.
Step IV. Do an interview
Ask the Ss to do an interview: Imagine that you are a journalist, ask Elias to talk about Nelson Mandela.
In this part, most Ss can take their parts in the activities, especially for the Ss who have trouble in English study. In the group activities, they can speak a little English with ease. With no doubt, this will encourage them to speak English.
This step also leads to the emotion objective of this lesson, that is to learn from the great people.
Step V. Homework.
Summarize the whole lesson, and arrange the homework. Encourage the Ss to find some information on line and use different way to learn English after class.
Anyway, the teaching of this lesson aims to develop not only the Ss' language technical abilities, but also the diverse intelligence by integrated teaching methods.
As teachers, to make our English classrooms shine with vitality, we are laid with heavy burden, and we still have long way to go.
